The situation:
Torrential rains continue in Suriname and the Government has declared
the southern portion of the country a disaster area. PAHO/WHO already
has a sanitary engineer, with a great deal of post-disaster experience,
on the ground to help with the needs assessment. The Disaster Health
Emergency Response Team is on stand by. |
